Essaouira has always been the perfect destination for travellers, artists and hippies from all over the world: this delicious little town charms the visitors with its long sandy beaches, its Medina with white houses and little squares, the imposing bastions overlooking the ocean, the fresh fish in the small restaurants near the port or in the centre, its relaxed, casual atmosphere.
Every year Essaouira is invaded by the hypnotic sounds of the Gnaoua Music Festival, an unmissable appointment which is held here in June. In Essaouira you can stay in a typical riad inside the Medina with beautiful terraces overlooking the Ocean.
